Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) issued the following statement Friday in response to Gov. Pat McCrory’s budget proposal:
“Gov. McCrory’s balanced budget proposal sets the right tone for controlling the growth of government spending, bolstering the state’s Rainy Day Fund and prioritizing teacher pay – all without raising taxes. The Senate looks forward to reviewing the governor’s plan in greater detail and building on our shared priorities as we work through the appropriations process.”
