Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) on Wednesday endorsed Gov. Pat McCrory's bid for a second term. Below is a statement from Berger:

“Governor McCrory has been a valuable partner in our efforts to boost the economy, dramatically reduce taxes, strengthen public education and improve infrastructure, and I am pleased to endorse him for re-election. Now is not the time to reverse course on the policies and leadership that have sparked a substantial turnaround for North Carolina.”
